july4Happy Fourth everyone!

Busy weekend here in Bend, figured I'd post some happenings.

  • First Friday Artwalk, downtown Bend
  • Mt. Bachelor's opened the slopes for this weekend, cheap lift tickets, free JulySki Tee's for the first 250 lift tickets sold each day; lovely weather and still deep snow!
  • July 4th: Pet Parade downtown
  • July 4th: Drake Park for live music, food and craft vendors. Your's Truly will have a booth selling books, postcards, photo prints. Already have a copy of AAB? Bring it down to get signed!
  • July 4th: Minesota Ave block party downtown, hosted by the small businesses on Minnesota. Starts at the same time as pet parade, runs through 3pm
  • July 4th: Fireworks off Pilot Butte. You can probably expect the butte to catch fire once again...

pppThis weekend is the Pole-Pedal-Paddle, probably the largest sports event hosted in Bend each year. Individuals and teams race their way...some for fun, some competatively...down Mt. Bachelor on skis, across nordic trails, down CLH on bikes, along trails and roads on foot, and along the deschutes in a kayak. It's lots of fun to watch and open for anyone or any team.
